These include the ‘Practical Lesson of Entrepreneurship’ project, which provides secondary school students with workshops, mentoring, and training to develop business ideas or social ventures. Additionally, the city launched the ‘Buy Locally – Support Realistically’ campaign to encourage residents to patronize small and medium-sized local enterprises. Participating businesses receive promotional assistance through municipal advertising and social media. Expanding on civic engagement, Katowice’s local initiative program now allows residents to propose and implement various community projects. This effort aligns with broader social and developmental trends across Poland, where local communities are implementing diverse initiatives ranging from psychological consultations and mobile support centers to specialized workshops for seniors and labor market assistance for foster care leavers. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-01: Podhale and regional Poland host traditional festivals and social initiatives Poland sees a surge in regional activities, from traditional autumn sheep marches (redyk) in Podhale to expanded social support services and record-breaking participation in the European Week of Sport. 17 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/katowice-and-ostroka-announce-local-development-initiatives ### 2026-09-14: Katowice launches new entrepreneurship and local business support initiatives Katowice has launched two initiatives to bolster entrepreneurship: a practical business program for high school students and a ‘Buy Locally’ campaign to promote small and medium-sized local businesses. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/katowice-launches-new-entrepreneurship-and-local-business-support-initiatives --- Cite as: Katowice local entrepreneurship and business support.
