New York Giants linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux has faced an uncertain future with the franchise following a decline in production and injury concerns. After recording 11.5 sacks in 2023, his output fell to 2.5 sacks in 2024, and he missed 12 games over the previous two seasons.

Although the Giants exercised a fifth-year option guaranteeing $14.7 million, the team has added depth to its defensive line with players such as Abdul Carter and Arvell Reese. While the Giants reportedly explored trade options, their asking price of a second-round pick was considered too high, as offers peaked at the fourth round.

Following the Chicago Bears’ Week 1 defensive struggles, analyst Devin McCourty suggested the Bears should target Thibodeaux to improve their pass rush. McCourty noted that the Giants might be open to such a transaction due to their existing depth at the position.
