Professional baseball teams in the KBO League are experiencing significant pitching depth challenges as they enter the postseason.

The LG Twins are managing a depleted bullpen ahead of the Wild Card game, with closer Son Ju-young sidelined by neck stiffness and veteran Kim Jin-sung out for the season due to a shoulder injury. Additionally, Go Woo-seok is ineligible for postseason play due to registration regulations.

Similarly, the Samsung Lions face roster difficulties for their series against the KIA Tigers. While hitter Koo Ja-wook has returned as a designated hitter, the team lost league-leading closer Kim Jae-yun to a muscle injury. The loss of left-handed relievers Baek Jeong-hyeon and Lee Seung-hyeon has forced manager Park Jin-man to consider a collective closer system.
