AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit has drawn significant interest from several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham, following strong performances in the Eredivisie. The 20-year-old talent was reportedly valued at approximately £51.5m (€60m) during a period of high scouting activity.

Despite these links to major European clubs such as FC Barcelona, Smit is nearing a contract extension with AZ Alkmaar that would keep him at the club until mid-2030. This renewal, following club guidance for the player to set aside transfer thoughts for the time being, strengthens AZ Alkmaar’s negotiating position and complicates potential future acquisitions by foreign clubs.
