Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel deployed under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) participated in various morale-boosting and commemorative activities. In early October, troops in Kismayo and Dhobley held ‘Family Day’ celebrations at St Michael Catholic Church to foster fellowship and strengthen bonds among personnel serving away from home.

By mid-October, senior military leadership conducted tours to assess personnel. Maj. Gen. Luka Kutto visited Kismayo to meet with AUSSOM troops, emphasizing the need for discipline and operational readiness during KDF Day commemorations. Simultaneously, Chief of the Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri visited domestic units in Kenya, reaffirming commitments to military modernization and troop welfare.
