The Kenyan judiciary has issued several significant rulings regarding corruption and fraud. The High Court upheld the corruption convictions of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and three co-accused individuals, involving charges of conflict of interest, abuse of office, and fraudulent procurement. The court revoked their bonds and ordered their detention in Nairobi Remand Prison and Lang’ata Women’s Prison.

In a contrasting ruling, the High Court quashed corruption charges against Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, awarding him KSh2.5 million in damages after determining that the criminal proceedings were “unlawful and unconstitutional.”

Additionally, former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner Davis Nathan Chelogoi was convicted in a KSh1.35 billion land fraud case. A Chief Magistrate found Chelogoi guilty of conspiring to fraudulently register land in Lower Kabete to deprive businessmen of their property.
