Sources: 9. Developments: 2. An investigation by the Crime Branch into alleged irregularities during a Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) examination for the State Planning Board has escalated. The probe was initiated after a candidate identified that 10 questions, worth 58 marks, were left unevaluated in several answer scripts, causing significant shifts in candidate rankings. While the PSC initially petitioned the court to quash the investigation, claiming the discrepancies were “merely clerical errors,” the Kerala High Court expressed concern over the progress of the probe and the perceived lack of cooperation from the PSC. The investigation has since led to the arrest of P Satheesh, a former Deputy Secretary of the PSC who managed the on-screen marking system. Additionally, Additional Secretary R Hari has been suspended. The Special Investigation Team is continuing its inquiry, having summoned the PSC Chairman and recorded statements from several commission members. The scope of the investigation has also expanded to include irregularities in examinations for fisheries extension officers and village oil inspectors. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-27: Kerala PSC exam scam: Former Deputy Secretary arrested Kerala authorities have arrested former PSC Deputy Secretary P Satheesh amid a widening investigation into recruitment exam scams involving the Planning Board and other positions. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kerala-psc-exam-scam-former-deputy-secretary-arrested ### 2026-10-24: Kerala High Court questions PSC recruitment probe progress The Kerala High Court has questioned the progress of a Crime Branch probe into alleged recruitment irregularities within the Kerala Public Service Commission regarding a State Planning Board position. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kerala-high-court-questions-psc-recruitment-probe-progress --- Cite as: Kerala Public Service Commission recruitment investigation.
