Kid Rock announced his first Christian-themed album, titled ‘Halfway 2 Jesus’, scheduled for release on October 17. The project features a collaboration with Detroit rapper Eminem on the track ‘7 Sins’, a reunion for the two Michigan artists. The album also includes guest contributions from Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts and Jimmie Allen.

Following the announcement, Kid Rock faced online backlash and claims that unnamed individuals were attempting to pressure him into removing songs from the project. While the inclusion of Eminem drew scrutiny, the participation of Jimmie Allen faced significant criticism due to previous sexual assault allegations and a federal court order involving a nearly $2 million payment to an accuser.
