The MBC entertainment program ‘Rookie Coach Kim Yeon-koung’ has entered its second season, focusing on former volleyball star Kim Yeon-koung’s efforts to establish the ‘Pilseung Wonderdogs’ as a professional eighth women’s volleyball club. Following the release of a season trailer highlighting upcoming challenges against professional teams like Hyundai Hillstate and international opponents, the program has moved into active management. To support the goal of professionalization, a club management office was established within the broadcasting station, and consultations were sought from the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) to evaluate the requirements for founding a new team. Despite the loss of players such as Lee Na-yeon and Pyo Seung-ju to professional leagues, Kim has rebuilt the roster through tryouts, selecting 13 players including Baek Chae-rim, Lee Ye-eun, and In-kusi. The season premiere achieved a 3.0% viewership rating, making it the top-rated Sunday entertainment program in its time slot. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: Kim Yeon-koung targets professional club founding for Wonder Dogs Kim Yeon-koung aims to transform the ‘Wonder Dogs’ into a professional volleyball club in the second season of her MBC reality series, following a successful roster rebuild and tryouts. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kim-yeon-koung-targets-professional-club-founding-for-wonder-dogs ### 2026-09-14: Kim Yeon-koung returns as coach in MBC series season 2 MBC's ‘Rookie Coach Kim Yeon-koung 2’ premieres October 11, following Kim's journey to lead the Pilseung Wonderdogs toward becoming a professional volleyball club. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kim-yeon-koung-returns-as-coach-in-mbc-series-season-2 --- Cite as: Kim Yeon-koung professional volleyball club project.
