In a specific incident during a Nations League match between the Netherlands and Germany, a 13-year-old pitch invader received a five-year stadium ban and a 100 euro fine after entering the field and taking a selfie with player Tijjani Reijnders. The KNVB also indicated intentions to seek civil damages from the youth’s legal guardians. Broadly, the KNVB’s Safety Monitor reported a decline in total stadium bans, falling from 887 in the 2024/2025 season to 704 in the 2025/2026 season. The association attributed this trend to improved detection via advanced camera systems. Common causes for bans included throwing objects, public violence, concealing perpetrators, and the use of fireworks. Despite the overall decrease in bans, three matches were permanently halted due to large-scale fireworks incidents. Marianne van Leeuwen, Director of Professional Football at the KNVB, noted that football-related issues are linked to broader societal problems and called for national coordination to address criminal groups. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-20: KNVB reports decline in Dutch football stadium bans The KNVB reports a drop in Dutch professional football stadium bans from 887 to 704, citing improved camera surveillance, despite three matches being halted due to major fireworks incidents. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/knvb-reports-decline-in-dutch-football-stadium-bans ### 2026-10-11: KNVB issues five-year stadium ban to 13-year-old pitch invader A 13-year-old fan has received a five-year stadium ban and a 100 euro fine from the KNVB after storming the pitch during a Netherlands vs. Germany Nations League match. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/knvb-issues-five-year-stadium-ban-to-13-year-old-pitch-invader --- Cite as: KNVB football stadium misconduct and sanctions.
