# Kokra Canyon renovation project in Kranj

The Municipality of Kranj has been approved for co-financing to renovate the Kokra Canyon. Based on a decision by the Association of Municipalities of Slovenia, the municipality is eligible for 700,000 euros in combined state and European funds toward a total estimated investment of 1.6 million euros.

The project focuses on improving green and blue infrastructure near Kranj’s old town center. Planned works include upgrading existing paths, improving river access near Županova brv, and connecting the canyon and trenches to the city center. Additional improvements involve renovating canyon entrances, upgrading the upper platform with lighting and communal infrastructure, constructing a sanitary facility, and creating nearly one kilometer of natural riverbank walkways. The initiative also aims to ensure accessibility for all demographic groups, including technical adjustments for those with mobility impairments.
