Sources: 18. Developments: 7. West Ham United defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has become a prominent offensive contributor in the Championship. The 28-year-old Greek international has scored five goals this season, including a decisive header in a 2-2 draw against Millwall and an opening goal in a 6-0 victory over Lincoln. His scoring form has placed him fourth in the league’s top scorers list, approaching Charlie Mulgrew’s single-season defender record of 10 goals. Following the Millwall derby, his match-worn jersey was auctioned for £99,999.99 by a supporter identified as ‘Bidder136125’, a price that significantly surpassed previous offers and generated widespread discussion. Mavropanos was named Championship Player of the Month after scoring four goals in five league games. While he has expressed his commitment to the club, stating that leaving was “never an option” as he aims to help West Ham return to the Premier League, his long-term future remains subject to conflicting reports. Although some reports suggested a two-year contract extension had been agreed upon, journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that no such extension has been signed. Additionally, reports indicate that Mavropanos has switched agents amid potential transfer interest from Beşiktaş, who are reportedly monitoring him for a move in January or summer 2027. Recent developments have introduced concerns regarding his availability. Following a 3-2 defeat to Southampton, Mavropanos suffered a knee injury during a collision with goalkeeper Daniel Peretz. While an official club announcement is pending, reports suggest the injury may sideline him for several weeks. The Greek centre-back is currently awaiting results from an MRI scan to determine an exact recovery timeline. Medical sources indicate the injury is unlikely to sideline him for months, but the setback poses a challenge for manager Nuno Espirito Santo due to limited squad depth. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-26: West Ham defender Dinos Mavropanos faces knee injury concern West Ham defender Dinos Mavropanos faces a potential multi-week absence due to a knee injury sustained against Southampton, impacting both club and Greek national team plans. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/west-ham-face-injury-setback-with-mavropanos-knee-concern ### 2026-10-16: Beşiktaş interested in West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos Beşiktaş is reportedly eyeing West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, with a potential transfer value exceeding €20 million. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/beikta-interested-in-west-ham-defender-konstantinos-mavropanos ### 2026-10-15: West Ham United defeats Lincoln City 6-0 West Ham United defeated Lincoln City 6-0, featuring a goal from Pablo Felipe and a fifth seasonal goal from Konstantinos Mavropanos following a tactical shift in the second half. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/west-ham-united-defeats-lincoln-city-6-0 ### 2026-10-15: Konstantinos Mavropanos scores fifth goal in West Ham victory West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos scored his fifth goal of the season in a 6-0 win over Lincoln, moving him closer to the Championship record for goals by a defender. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/konstantinos-mavropanos-scores-fifth-goal-in-west-ham-victory ### 2026-10-10: Konstantinos Mavropanos named Championship Player of the Month amid transfer rumors West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has been named Championship Player of the Month, but reports suggest his future is uncertain amid claims of no contract extension and interest from other clubs. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/konstantinos-mavropanos-named-championship-player-of-the-month-amid-transfer-rumors ### 2026-09-30: West Ham fan pays £99,999 for Mavropanos match-worn jersey A West Ham United fan paid nearly £100,000 for Konstantinos Mavropanos’s match-worn jersey following his equalizer in a dramatic derby against Millwall. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/west-ham-fan-pays-99999-for-mavropanos-match-worn-jersey ### 2026-09-19: Konstantinos Mavropanos emerges as West Ham top scorer West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has become a top scorer in the Championship, netting four goals in seven games, including a crucial header in a 2-2 draw against Millwall. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/konstantinos-mavropanos-scores-equalizer-in-west-ham-derby-draw --- Cite as: Konstantinos Mavropanos performance and injury update.
