The municipality is advancing a new intercity bus terminal, with construction expected to begin in September 2026. This terminal is intended to integrate with the city’s rail systems via a pedestrian overpass to connect the terminal, the High-Speed Train station, and the airport. Parallel developments are focused on the KONYARAY suburban rail line. The first 23-kilometer stage, connecting Meram Station to the Kayacık Logistics Center, has largely completed its construction phase and is currently undergoing electrification and station building. To support these rail expansions, the Konya Metropolitan Municipality has launched an international competitive tender to procure 16 new train vehicles (four train sets).
