The Finnish ice hockey team KooKoo has experienced a severe decline in performance during the SM-liiga season. Initially, the team faced an injury crisis that left them at the bottom of the standings, specifically noting the absence of primary goaltender Eetu Randelin and other key players.

This situation escalated into a coaching crisis following nine consecutive losses. Despite a silver medal finish the previous spring, the team has struggled with a significant goal differential, having conceded 40 goals while scoring only 15. Analysts have called for a change in leadership, specifically targeting head coach Jouko Myrrä, as the club faces a high threat of relegation.
