The Krefeld Pinguine began their return to the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) following a 1,633-day absence from the top division. Their return match at the Yayla-Arena resulted in a 1-3 home defeat against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven.

Following that initial loss, the team secured their first victory of the season with a 6-3 away win against the Straubing Tigers. Krefeld continued their momentum with a 5-2 victory against Wild Wings Schwenningen. Although Schwenningen took an early lead via captain Kyle Platzer, Krefeld capitalized on defensive errors to turn the game around and maintain control until the final whistle.

Recent match reports confirm Krefeld has maintained this form with subsequent 5-2 victories against the Schwenninger Wild Wings.
