The KRIK 2026 critical culture festival is scheduled to begin its autumn season on September 18 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje. The festival will launch with the spatial installation ‘AWAKE’ by artist Šejla Kamerić, a work described as engaging with “historical trauma, gender politics, and contemporary social crises.”

The installation is intended to address themes of “solidarity, memory, and collective responsibility” during periods of global instability. The festival season receives support from various international organizations, including the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the European Fund for the Balkans, and Pro Peace – North Macedonia.
