Albanian striker Kristian Shpendi has established a significant scoring run in Italy’s Serie B while playing for Cesena. Initially leading the Golden Boot race with five goals in four matches, Shpendi extended his performance to six goals within the first five weeks of the season.

His recent form includes scoring in five consecutive matches, a feat not seen in the league for approximately 20 years. This streak has drawn attention from Albania national team coach Sylvinho, who is considering Shpendi as a potential primary striker for upcoming Nations League challenges.

Shpendi continues to lead the Serie B scoring charts, having netted six goals from just eight shots on target. His performance coincides with a broader resurgence of Italian goalscorers in the league, with Italian players recording 91 goals in the first five matchdays—the highest figure at this stage in the last five seasons. Shpendi remains a central figure as Italian players compete to reclaim the ‘Pablito’ top scorer award, which has not been won by an Italian since 2022.
