Kroger Co has phased out Red Bull energy drinks from its supermarkets and fuel centers nationwide. The removal, which included branded coolers and in-store displays across banners such as Ralphs, Fred Meyer, and Harris Teeter, was completed by August 31.

While no formal explanation was provided by the companies, the move appears to be the result of a pricing dispute. Kroger’s website indicated the brand was out of stock while the retailer worked with suppliers to maintain affordable prices. This follows statements from CEO Greg Foran, who indicated the company would resist supplier price increases driven by inflation.

In addition to the Red Bull phaseout, some Kroger locations had previously reduced their selection of Boar’s Head deli products. The retailer continues to stock other energy drink brands, including Monster, Rockstar, Alani Nu, and Celsius.
