Senegalese attacker Krépin Diatta joined Watford as a free agent following the conclusion of his five-season tenure with AS Monaco. The move was intended to help the 27-year-old regain match fitness and his standing with the Senegal national team.

Diatta made a strong impact in his first start for the club during a 2-0 Championship victory over Charlton Athletic. His performance, characterized by high pass completion and defensive contributions, helped Watford end a four-match losing streak and move away from the relegation zone.
