The trial of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director-General of Ghana’s National Signals Bureau (NSB), involves allegations regarding the misuse of GH₵49.1 million (approximately $7 million) intended for a cyber defence system from an Israeli company, ISC Holdings Ltd. The defendants, including Adu-Boahene, his wife Angela Boateng, and Advantage Solutions Limited, face 11 financial charges, including embezzlement, stealing, and money laundering.

After more than 18 months of proceedings at the Accra High Court, the prosecution has formally rested its case. During the trial, four witnesses testified for the state, including an investigator from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) who testified that a document presented by the defense as evidence of the cybersecurity purchase was forged. Further testimony included the NSB Head of Finance, who stated that the funds were transferred to an account unknown to the Bureau, and a former driver for the couple, who testified to carrying large sums of cash on their instructions.

Following the closure of the state's case, the defense is preparing its next move. Samuel Atta Akyea, the lawyer representing Adu-Boahene, denied social media reports claiming he had abandoned his clients, dismissing such claims as “wretched and vile propaganda.” Atta Akyea stated that his legal team is preparing a “very solid and credible submission of no case.” He also maintained that the document contested by the prosecution was admitted into evidence without objection.
