This development follows the university’s selection as the only hub university in the metropolitan area for the ‘2026 AID Transformation Focused Junior College Support Project,’ an initiative organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea. The center is intended to serve as a digital transformation (DX) education hub for the northern Gyeonggi region. Educational programs will focus on intelligent business process automation to help students manage workflows using artificial intelligence. The university plans to integrate AI technology across various disciplines, including nursing, health, design, video media, architecture, and service sectors. To certify student competencies, the university is utilizing a digital badge system recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK). These badges are organized into four levels: Fundamental, General, Integrated, and Advanced. Furthermore, the university has established a smart campus environment that includes 24-hour AI chatbots for administrative and admissions guidance. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-29: Kyungbok University to open Gyeonggi Northern AID Hub Center Kyungbok University will open the Gyeonggi Northern AID Hub Center on October 7 to lead AI and digital transformation education in the region through specialized convergence programs and digital certification. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kyungbok-university-to-open-gyeonggi-northern-aid-hub-center ### 2026-09-01: Kyungpook National University selected for robotics graduate school project Kyungpook National University will invest 17.2 billion KRW over five years to establish a specialized robotics graduate school focused on AI and hardware/software convergence. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kyungpook-national-university-selected-for-robotics-graduate-school-project --- Cite as: Kyungbok University AID Hub Center establishment.
