Local officials, including Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and Representative Gabe Amo, highlighted that the expansion supports Rhode Island’s ‘Blue Economy,’ a sector valued at over $5.2 billion that supports more than 36,500 jobs across the state.
