Local officials and the municipal council in La Chorrera, Panama Oeste, are addressing regional development and infrastructure needs. 

To address rising security concerns driven by rapid urban growth, local representatives have requested new police substations and increased law enforcement resources. Specific requests include more patrol vehicles for residential developments and increased surveillance near schools. Subcommissioner Yadira Gantes noted that negotiations are underway with a developer to establish a substation in the Altos de las Praderas community.

Simultaneously, the La Chorrera Municipal Council has authorized the mayor to study the development of a cable car system. This proposed 12-kilometer route, featuring seven stations, is intended to provide a connectivity alternative to the Panama Metro Line 3 by linking the district to the Ciudad del Futuro metro station.
