The La Pampa government is promoting the “4 Ríos, Un Desafío Original” initiative to raise awareness about the Salado River and the Desaguadero – Salado – Chadileuvú – Curacó fluvial system. The initiative highlights the critical impact of reduced water flow across five provinces, noting that upstream water management and retention have caused systematic damage to downstream Pampean territories, affecting biodiversity and the socio-economic stability of local producers and livestock farmers.

On October 4, the town of La Reforma hosted a trail running event as part of this series, attracting approximately 300 participants. The event utilized sport to promote environmental consciousness regarding the vital hydrographic system. Following this event, the initiative is scheduled to continue with a session in Gobernador Duval on November 8 along the Colorado River.
