The province of La Rioja faced significant budgetary constraints affecting its participation in regional and national sporting events. In early October, the provincial government confirmed its withdrawal from the Juegos Nacionales Evita, as Secretary of Sports, Recreation, and Inclusion Jorge Córdoba stated the province could not cover costs for transporting and sustaining the delegation. This economic difficulty also led to the suspension of the regional Juegos Atacalar.

In response to the lack of national funding for sports and culture, the provincial government launched the second edition of the Federal Sports Raffle. Managed by the Ministry of Development, Equality and Social Integration, the initiative aims to generate resources for local athletes, clubs, and teams. According to Minister Alfredo Menem, the funds are intended to cover infrastructure, equipment, clothing, and travel expenses for competitions both domestically and abroad.
