The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has rehabilitated and commissioned the Alternative High School for Girls in Agboju, Lagos State. The facility, originally established in 2007, is designed to support girls and young women whose education was interrupted by poverty, socio-economic challenges, or early pregnancy.

In addition to academic studies, the renovated school provides vocational training in fields such as cosmetology, garment-making, hairdressing, catering, and home economics, alongside ICT and library facilities. The initiative was inaugurated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, represented by Hajiya Nana Shettima, and aligns with the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ to foster self-reliance among vulnerable learners.
