In August, a soldier died and three others were injured following a landmine explosion in Briceño, Antioquia, during operations by the Rapid Deployment Force No. 7. Authorities linked the device to the Clan del Golfo criminal group.

On September 21, two separate attacks in the Meta department resulted in the deaths of three soldiers and several injuries. In the rural area of La Unión, within the La Macarena municipality, troops from the 35th Rapid Deployment Battalion triggered improvised explosive devices. The deceased were identified as Elkin Quinto Mosquera, Jesús Adrián Ramírez Carrillo, and Óscar David Monterroza Suárez, while four others were wounded.
