During the early stages of the season, Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby faced disciplinary action after being fined $23,882 by the NFL for a personal foul involving helmet contact.

Following this, the Raiders implemented a strategy to manage Crosby’s playing time to preserve his health, reducing his average defensive snap count to approximately 86 percent through the first six weeks. Amidst these workload adjustments, speculation surfaced regarding potential trade interest from the Dallas Cowboys, although the Raiders have not indicated an intention to trade the player.

As the season progressed, the Raiders' momentum shifted following a strong 3-0 start, leading to a four-game losing streak that brought the team to a 3-4 record. This decline has intensified trade speculation. Analysts have suggested that trading Crosby could serve as a strategic move to acquire assets for a long-term rebuild centered around young quarterback Fernando Mendoza. While previous rumors linked him to the Dallas Cowboys, more recent mock trade discussions have connected him to the Chicago Bears, with potential deals involving multiple first-round draft picks.
