The amateur boxing landscape in Latin America is characterized by high-profile regional tournaments and preparations for major international competitions.

The ‘Roberto Durán – El Legado’ international tournament, supported by the World Boxing Council, has reached its final stages, featuring a matchup between Panama and Mexico. The project aims to foster social and educational development for young athletes.

Concurrently, Dominican Republic boxers are training in Mexico City to prepare for qualifying championships in Puebla. This training follows a successful performance at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, where the Dominican squad secured seven gold medals and one bronze. The team is now focused on securing spots for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
