Health authorities and medical researchers in Mexico, Argentina, and Chile are implementing various strategies to improve responses to cardiac emergencies.

In Mexico, efforts focus on the ‘Código Infarto’ protocol to reduce the time between detection and treatment for acute myocardial infarction, ensuring patients can access urgent care through the Universal Health Service. In Argentina, research has been conducted to map the geographic accessibility of hemodynamics centers to better manage the decision between immediate thrombolytic treatment or transfer to specialized facilities.

Complementing these systemic and research-based approaches, community and professional training programs are being conducted. In Chile, community workshops have been organized to teach residents CPR and the Heimlich maneuver, while in Argentina, advanced training sessions have provided medical professionals with updated protocols for adult and pediatric CPR and arrhythmia management.
