In September 2026, football activities involving Latvian clubs RFS and Auda saw developments in both cup scheduling and league standings.

The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) rejected a request from FC RFS to reschedule the Latvian Cup final against FK Riga. The LFF committee determined there were no grounds for a change after reviewing competition regulations, the Virsliga calendar, and UEFA schedules.

In the Tonybet Latvian Higher League, RFS and Auda played to a 1-1 draw. The result allowed RFS to reclaim the top position in the standings with 74 points, placing them narrowly ahead of Riga.
