A fatal vehicle accident occurred in Lavallette, New Jersey, when a 93-year-old driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while attempting to park. The SUV crashed through an outdoor dining area at Meg’s Grill and entered the building, causing significant damage to the restaurant and an adjacent liquor store.

The crash resulted in the death of 56-year-old Ursula “Sandie” Keating and left seven other individuals injured.

Following an investigation, Lavallette Police Chief Christian LaCicero stated that after consulting with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, authorities determined the driver was not acting recklessly.
