Abdul Samad Isyaku Rabi’u, chairman of the BUA Group, has received multiple leadership recognitions in Nigeria.

In mid-September, Leadership newspaper named Rabi’u as its Man of the Year, citing his business success, philanthropic efforts, and his role in the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID).

By late September, Rabi’u was also named the Edge Industrial Leadership Icon of the Year at the 2026 Edge Awards. This award recognized his development of BUA into a major African industrial conglomerate. During the same ceremony, BUA Group was named the Edge Outstanding Industrial Brand of the Year, highlighting its contributions to indigenous industrialization and the Nigerian economy through subsidiaries such as BUA Foods and BUA Cement.

In October, MARKETING EDGE reaffirmed these honors at the 14th EDGE Awards. During this event, Rabi’u was again recognized as the EDGE Industrial Leadership Icon of the Year, while BUA Group received the EDGE Outstanding Industrial Brand of the Year award. The recognition underscores the group’s ongoing investments in Nigeria’s manufacturing, food production, and infrastructure sectors.
