Discussions regarding former French national football coach Aimé Jacquet have centered on both his historical tensions with the media and his professional legacy.

Pierre Ménès recently addressed the conflict between Jacquet and the sports daily L’Equipe during the 1998 World Cup era. Ménès noted that L’Equipe engaged in a campaign against Jacquet, leading the coach to label certain journalists as “thugs, irresponsible, dishonest and incompetent.”

In a separate context, the professional lineage of Jacquet was highlighted through an emotional meeting between him and Zinédine Zidane at the Stade de France following a French victory over Belgium. During this encounter, Jacquet praised the current squad, while observers noted that Zidane’s management style reflects the “Jacquet method,” specifically regarding psychological support and player engagement.
