Following the death of intellectual Konstantinos Tsoukalas, discussions have emerged regarding his profound influence on Greek and European intellectual history. Early reports noted his spiritual connection to Nikos Poulantzas and raised criticisms concerning a perceived lack of official recognition for his passing.

Subsequently, former President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos delivered a formal tribute to Tsoukalas at the 21st Nafplio International Meetings. Pavlopoulos, in a speech titled ‘A Journey on the Roads of Freedom’, detailed Tsoukalas’s academic career across institutions in Athens, Heidelberg, Munich, Paris, and Yale. The tribute also recognized his anti-dictatorial activities between 1967 and 1974 and his 2025 election to the Academy of Athens.
