Rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh is facing investigation by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell following complaints regarding allegedly indecent or objectionable remarks made during a concert in Delhi. The controversy was triggered by a viral video clip of his performance.

Singh has missed multiple summons for questioning, requesting additional time and citing his presence abroad as the reason for his absence. In response to the summons, authorities have warned that failure to appear may lead to the initiation of a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him.

Singh has issued an apology via social media, claiming the viral clip was edited to cause offense. He stated his intention was to use language familiar to younger audiences to convey messages regarding sexual health and protection, rather than to insult anyone.

Following his reported failure to attend three previous summons, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell issued a new summons requiring Singh to appear on October 16, rejecting his request to delay until October 22. 

On October 16, Singh appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell and underwent approximately two hours of questioning to record a statement. The investigation involves allegations that a song performed during the concert was “highly obscene and derogatory toward women, treating them as sex objects.” Legal representatives involved in the complaint also raised concerns that the song’s availability on social media platforms poses a risk to children.
