In Denmark, courts have issued various sentences for violent and psychological abuse. 

In Bornholm, three individuals received prison terms ranging from three to five months for an incident in September 2025 involving aggravated violence, illegal coercion, and death threats. The case involved physical assaults and forcing a victim to admit to a theft she did not commit. 

In Holbæk, a 35-year-old man was sentenced to three months in prison for psychological violence against his wife. The court found he controlled her bank accounts, communications, and social interactions over a six-month period. The defendant has appealed the verdict.
