The 18th Family Games Festival was held at the New Town Hall in Leipzig, featuring activities such as a robotics lab, scavenger hunts, and musical performances. A central component of the festival was the presentation of the Family Friendliness Award, which focused on the theme of ‘Engagement for equal opportunity and against child poverty.’

During the awards ceremony, Mayor and Deputy for Youth, School, and Democracy Vicki Felthaus noted that the prizes recognize efforts to ensure children can participate in society regardless of socioeconomic status. In the ‘Recognition’ category, Ferienland e. V. was awarded 2,500 euros for organizing holiday trips for disadvantaged youth. The ‘Innovation’ category prize of 2,500 euros was given to the ‘KUKU Welcome Package’ by einfach machbar e. V., an initiative supporting families with infants who have severe visual impairments.
