In late 2026, the city is scheduled to host the ‘Tacheles der jüdischen Geschichte Leipzigs’ conference at the Alte Börse Leipzig. This event, part of the Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony, aims to examine Jewish life across various eras, including the post-war period and the GDR, while utilizing research from the Leipzig City Archive. Public interest in these historical topics appears high. A municipal survey indicated that 89 percent of residents expressed moderate to strong interest in local history.
