The Municipality of Leiria has approved a direct award of approximately 1.2 million euros (plus VAT) to repair significant structural damage to the Paços do Concelho (City Hall). The repairs follow a series of storms involving exceptional wind and precipitation that compromised the building’s watertightness and caused heavy water infiltration.

The project is expected to take 270 days. Planned interventions focus on the oldest part of the structure, including deep repairs to the roof to replace degraded tiles and improve drainage. Specialized conservation work will also be conducted in the Salão Nobre (Grand Hall) to address damage to the stucco ceiling, moldings, and woodwork, alongside treatments for flooring and interior openings.
