Sources: 24. Developments: 5. Football analyst Lachezar Tanev has assessed the progress of Levski Sofia, noting that while the club is evolving into a European-caliber team through improved organization and management, it lacks a high-quality central striker. Tanev observed that despite strong defensive and possession capabilities, the team struggles to finish plays effectively, lacking a clinical finisher of “Central European standard or higher.” As the club continues its Europa League campaign, Levski Sofia secured a historic 2-1 away victory against Viktoria Plzen. Everton Bala opened the scoring in the 44th minute, and although Kristof Havrancik equalized for Plzen, Reinaldo scored the decisive goal in the 65th minute. This win, Levski’s first in the main phase of a European tournament in 16 years, moved them to 4 points in the standings. Following this European success, the club has shifted its focus back to the efbet Liga. Head coach Julio Velázquez emphasized the need for mental discipline to transition from European competition to domestic play, stating that managing emotions is essential for a club of Levski’s stature. The team currently maintains an undefeated record in the league with 28 points from ten matches. As Levski prepares to face Arda Kardzhali in the 12th round of the First League, Velázquez has reiterated the importance of maintaining a professional mentality and moving past recent European successes to focus on domestic fixtures. While Radoslav Kirilov, Asen Mitkov, and Gasper Tardin are expected to miss the match, striker Mustafa Sangare has returned to the squad following an injury. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-25: Levski prepares to face Arda Kardzhali in First League clash League leaders Levski Sofia face Arda Kardzhali in a First League match on October 27, following Levski's recent Europa League win. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/levski-sofia-prepares-for-arda-match-following-european-victory ### 2026-10-23: Christopher Kabongo reacts to Viktoria Plzeň loss against Levski Viktoria Plzeň striker Christopher Kabongo expressed frustration after a Europa League loss to Levski but remains hopeful about the team's future prospects. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/christopher-kabongo-reacts-to-viktoria-plze-loss-against-levski ### 2026-10-21: Levski Sofia defeats Viktoria Plzen 2-1 in Europa League Levski Sofia earned a 2-1 away win against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League, thanks to goals from Everton Bala and Reinaldo, marking a significant European milestone for the Bulgarian club. 19 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/levski-sofia-targets-victory-against-viktoria-plzen-in-europa-league ### 2026-10-19: Levski Sofia prepares for Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen Levski Sofia midfielder Marko Grujic and coach Julio Velasquez discussed the team's ambitions ahead of their Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen.
