LG Electronics is supplying an integrated cockpit solution for the Renault Group’s New Trafic E-Tech Electric, which is identified as Europe’s first commercial software-defined vehicle (SDV). 

The technology integrates the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system into a single, unified interface. This centralized computing architecture replaces multiple individual electronic control units (ECUs) to reduce system complexity and production costs. The system is designed to support over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing for feature improvements and upgrades after production. 

This partnership follows previous collaborations between LG and Renault, including the 2021 development of an Android-based infotainment system. Through this deployment, LG aims to expand its presence in the global SDV market.
