Resident students attending primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools—at both state and private institutions—can submit applications from September 28 to November 30, 2026. Financial aid remains divided into two categories: grants to cover enrollment and attendance fees for all levels, and grants for textbook purchases for middle and high school students. Maximum grant amounts are 600 euros for primary school, 800 euros for lower secondary, and 1,100 euros for upper secondary school. To increase accessibility, the region has raised the maximum income threshold for eligibility to 50,000 euros and is expanding digital application procedures to include residents of Savona and La Spezia, following their implementation in Genoa. Vice President Simona Ferro stated the initiative aims to ensure that “economic difficulties do not obstruct educational paths.” ## Timeline ### 2026-09-27: Liguria announces 2026 school scholarship applications Liguria has launched its 2026 scholarship program for resident students, offering grants for school enrollment and textbooks with maximum amounts up to 1,100 euros. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/liguria-announces-2026-school-scholarship-applications ### 2026-09-20: Liguria Region announces 2026 school scholarship programs Liguria Region is opening 2026 scholarship applications from September 28, offering up to 1,100 euros to support student enrollment and textbook costs for resident primary and secondary students. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/liguria-region-announces-2026-school-scholarship-programs ### 2026-08-25: Liguria officials protest privatization of medical courses in Pietra Ligure Officials in Liguria, Italy, are protesting the decision to allow Link Campus University to host private medical courses at Pietra Ligure hospital, citing high costs and threats to the right to education. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/liguria-officials-protest-privatization-of-medical-courses-in-pietra-ligure --- Cite as: Liguria regional student scholarship programs.
