Goaltender Linus Ullmark sustained an injury during a game against the Boston Bruins on October 5, when he left the match following a collision with JJ Peterka. At the time, coach Travis Green described the incident as a “tweak” and indicated the departure was a precautionary measure.

By October 22, the Ottawa Senators officially placed Ullmark on injured reserve due to a lower-body strain sustained during a game against the Florida Panthers. Ullmark is expected to miss at least one week, leading the team to recall goaltender Jonas Johansson from the Belleville Senators to provide depth.
