The Lions Club Sorpesee distributed 12,000 euros in proceeds from its annual duck race to various regional social initiatives and organizations. 

Donations were presented to seven recipients focusing on children, youth, water rescue, and social inclusion. Specific beneficiaries include the Family and Educational Counseling Center in Sundern for an ADHD self-help group, the Association for the Promotion of Youth Welfare for the ‘Haus der Jugend’, and DLRG groups in Langscheid and Amecke for water rescue training. 

Other funds supported food banks in Balve and Plettenberg, the ‘Gemeinsam Leben – gemeinsam Lernen’ inclusive carriage driving initiative, and the Voltiflöhe e. V. club for inclusive vaulting. The next duck race is planned for May 1, 2027, in Amecke.
