In late August, Mazara del Vallo will host author Gaspare Grammatico for a presentation of his noir novel, ‘La mentalità del granchio. Un’indagine del commissario Nenè Indelicato,’ while Gallipoli will host criminologist Antonio Russo to discuss ‘Stalking storie straordinarie di un crimine ordinario,’ an event involving various political and social figures.

Following these events, the 25th edition of the Elio Vittorini National Literary Prize and the 7th Arnaldo Lombardi Prize for independent publishing are set to begin in Siracusa. Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the author’s death, the program includes a philatelic exhibition dedicated to 20th-century Sicilian authors and a special commemorative stamp release scheduled for September 11. Cultural presentations will also feature a preview of Enzo Papa’s essay regarding Vittorini and Guttuso.
