Lithuanian academic and industrial sectors continue to host various innovation-focused events. VILNIUS TECH has been organizing initiatives such as racing simulator recruitment trials for its Transport Engineering Faculty and the ‘Portathon 2026’ hackathon, which addressed maritime and industrial issues like green hydrogen use in EU logistics.

The ninth annual Hack4Vilnius hackathon, organized by VILNIUS TECH and Saulėtekis Tech Park, has now concluded. The event brought together over 100 participants forming 34 teams to develop technological solutions for Vilnius’s infrastructure, mobility, and services.

In the competition, the first-place prize was awarded to team ‘SLLAB’ for ‘Vilkas’, a prototype designed as a radar for city problems. The second-place winner, team ‘TJ’, developed a system for optimizing waste collection, while third place was awarded to team ‘Dilgėlė’ for an enhancement to a public transport application. Participants utilized artificial intelligence to create tools aimed at improving municipal efficiency and urban life.
