Lithuanian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have initiated large-scale humanitarian efforts focused on food security and blood donation. The Food Bank launched its 41st nationwide autumn food drive, mobilizing approximately 7,000 volunteers across 374 stores in 70 towns and cities. This campaign involves 199 NGOs, 40 Food Bank branches, and nine retail chains to collect donations for those in need.

While donations of oil have increased, organizers noted a high demand and low supply for protein-rich canned goods, such as meat and fish preserves. In addition to the food drive, the platform Aukok.lt organized a blood donation event in Vilnius to support the Blood Center from VU Santaros Clinics, highlighting the NGO sector’s capacity for life-saving mobilization.
