Local development initiatives in Minas, Lavalleja, have focused on both infrastructure and cultural support. The Lavalleja Departmental Intendancy, with approximately US$ 25,000 in funding from the National Administration of Usinas y Trasmisiones Eléctricas (UTE), inaugurated new street lighting on Andrés Nappa Street to improve security and connectivity.

Following this, departmental deputy Isabel Urquiola proposed the establishment of a Cultural Innovation Center in Minas. The proposal, currently under review by the Education and Culture Commission, aims to provide local artists with free access to rehearsal rooms, recording studios, and audiovisual production spaces to support talent within the department.
