Lockheed Martin has unveiled a full-scale mock-up of the Vectis Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), an autonomous stealth drone developed by its Skunk Works division. Designed to act as a ‘loyal wingman’ for manned fifth-generation fighters such as the F-35, the multi-role platform is intended for strike, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and air-to-air missions.

The Vectis features a modified blended wing-body configuration without vertical control surfaces to reduce its radar signature. Lockheed Martin is expanding its development fleet to five airframes to accelerate testing, with a maiden flight targeted for 2027. This in-house initiative seeks to position the company for future US Navy, US Air Force, or international contracts.
